Plot: 1938, Romania: at 70, a professor of language and philosophy, Dominic Matei, contemplates suicide: the love of his life is dead, and he remains unable to complete his life’s work on the origins of language. Then, he’s struck by lightning. After a slow recovery, he grows younger. He must now avoid Nazis, who want to study and experiment on him. Some years later, he meets a young woman who has her own passage through a lightning storm. Not only does Dominic find love again, but her new abilities hold the key to his research. How many happily married people slept with their spouses before marriage? How soon after meeting?
being single I have read some advice books or books telling me why I am a single female in my 30’s. Advice ranges from stay in shape, keep my hair long (as it represents youth), be completely honest, and don’t sleep with him until marriage. HOWEVER, several of my married friends did not do these things and were able to secure husbands. funny how the books tell you what’s wrong with you when you’re single but when you marry you are automatically without "issues." Just curious as to the not sleeping with someone advice because 90% of my married friends slept with their now spouses before the "big day." Some within less than a week of meeting that person!
It is time for you to adjust two things: 1. stop reading books with bad advice 2. stop worrying about the age you are when you marry. I did not marry until 35

LOL! I slept with my husband on like the second week and were on the verge of a divorce. I dont know if that has anything to do with it. we have been together for 5 years and married for 3 and a half.

Everyone has different views on this subject. I made my husband wait a month, he jokingly told me a few years ago, I almost got dumped, b/c I would not put out. Truthfully, I know of no one who waited until their wedding night. I guess we all are a bunch of sinner’s! LOL!!

Well, the reason they say to not sleep with him is that you would only physically connected. You need to be emotionally connected before you take this big step. Now for some people it is okay to just skip to that, and then get to know each other. First before you take that risk you need to make sure the man and woman are ready for commitment. Not just a sexual relationship!

I am completely happy in my marriage and we slept together from the get-go. I can see where it could have been a problem, but luckily we have always kept an open line of communication and have been willing to compromise on a lot.

There can be no statistics for this. But what can be guessed is that such cases would be few and far between.

Those all sound like nice ideas, idealistic. But everyone is different. Lots of people get married. Lots of people don’t. Lots of different factors are involved. For the most part, I tend to believe in the "law of attraction" in that what you dwell on tends to become true. For example, for people who imagine themselves married, without a doubt in their minds that it’s possible, they’ll get married. On the other hand, for people who dwell on how unhappy they are that they’re NOT married, they’ll tend to stay unmarried.

I am a marriage, relationship and sexual coach. 99% of couples have sex with each other before they get married. Some peopel practice alternative sex, but if someone is having an orgasm, it is sex. Bill Clinton tried to say that he did not have sex with Monica Lewinsky because she gave him oral sex.
Disregard that advice and here is the ultimate advice to having a happy marriage. Learn conflict resolution skills. Everyone will have differences, it is how we resolve those differences that is the main thing. You can google my email address and read articles that I have had published on the net. There are several sexual articles on there, but the article that I want you to read is the one entitled; PEACEFULLY RESOLVING CONFLICT. It is the number one reason that couples break up, lack of conflict resolution skills.
As to the advice about keeping your hair long, I recommend it. Look on any fashion magazine and see if you see any models with short hair. You won’t, men love long hair on women. Women with short hair are project the message to men: screw you men, I don’t care what you think. Do you think that men want that kind of woman in their lives?
Men want respect from their women as their number one need, they need sex with their woman given willingly and lovingly. This is how men get their affectional needs met.

It’s an interesting question and I was curious to see the responses. In my opinion, the only "wrong" thing to do is change your behavior based on what works for others.
Also, the numbers on this are often more complex than they appear to be. You might take an informal survey and discover that 20 percent of people claim they slept with their spouse within a week. Even if this is true, there’s no statistic for the number of people who had sex within a week and the relationship never went anywhere. In my own experience, this is by far the expected outcome. It creates a false sense of intimacy.
